UNCG drops 4-3 decision at Eastern Kentucky
RICHMOND, KY – Andrey Bubnov and Arsel Kumerreli earned straight-set wins in singles action, but it wasn’t quite enough as UNC Greensboro lost to Eastern Kentucky, 4-3, in men’s tennis action on Saturday afternoon.
Bubnov, UNCG’s No. 1 singles player, defeated Lars Gratzki handily, 6-2 and 6-3. Kumdereli, playing at No. 4 singles, also won easily over Max Schindler by the same score.
UNCG also won the doubles point as Bubnov and Kumdereli teamed up for an 8-4 pro-set win, as did William Adeimy and Martin Redelinghuys.
The Spartans, who were opening the spring portion of their schedule on Saturday, return to action on Sunday when they face Kentucky in Lexington.
