UNCG men's tennis opens the 2005-06 season at the North Carolina State Invitational
RALEIGH, NC - Freshman Austin Wilty made his collegiate debut and advanced to the quarterfinal round to highlight UNCG's action at the season opening North Carolina State Invitiational this weekend.
Wilty defeated Mark Domba in straight-sets to open the tournament, 6-3, 6-2, and then advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over East Carolina's Ricardo Barone, 6-1, 6-0. However, he fell to North Carolina State's Chris Welte, 6-1, 7-6, in the quarterfinal round.
The tournament concludes on Sunday with the semifinal and championship rounds.
