UNCG falls to Furman, 7-0, in men's tennis action

GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro’s Martin Redelinghuys had his winning streak snapped at five straight matches as the Spartans lost to No. 69-ranked Furman, 7-0, in men’s tennis action Saturday afternoon.

Redelinghuys, a sophomore from South Africa who transferred into UNCG at the semester break from UNLV, had won each of his last five matches, three of them in decisive third sets. However, he had his streak snapped by the Paladins’ Andy Juc on Saturday, 6-3 and 6-0, as Furman swept all six singles matches and the three doubles’ pro-sets.

UNCG hosts Georgia Southern in another Southern Conference match-up Sunday at 11 am. It will be the Spartans final home match of the season.
