Redelinghuys, Wilty earn wins, but Spartans fall at Richmond, 5-2, in men's tennis action
RICHMOND, VA – UNC Greensboro’s duo of Martin Redelinghuys and Austin Wilty both won singles matches in straight sets but Richmond won two three-set matches to clinch a 5-2 win over the Spartans in men’s tennis action Saturday afternoon.
Redelinghuys cruised past Matt Stillwagon, 6-2 and 6-0. Wilty, a freshman from Chamblee, GA, knocked off Michael Sommer, 6-4 and 6-1. However, the Spiders got three-set singles’ wins from Doug Banker and Chris Louis to clinch the team victory.
UNCG returns to action on Wednesday when it visits East Carolina at 2 pm.
