UNCG picks up first win of the season, downs UNC Asheville, 4-3


GREENSBORO, NC -- UNC Greensboro Ian Conchar earned a three-set win over Tyler Begg to clinch the Spartans' first win of the season, 4-3, over UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon at UNCG Tennis Courts.

Conchar won the opening set, 7-6, 7-3 in the tie-breaker, before Begg won the second set, 6-2. However, Conchar took command in the third set, winning 6-1 to give UNCG (1-7) the victory.

Marc Ladouceur also earned a straight-set victory in singles action, defeating Loci Hereson, 6-2, 7-6, 7-2 in the tie-breaker.

UNCG returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to cross-city rival North Carolina A&T for a 2:30 pm match.
