GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro men’s tennis coach Thomas Mozur announced Tuesday that Martin Redelinghuys has transferred to the University and has officially enrolled in classes.
Redelinghuys attended Nevada-Las Vegas last spring and this fall, but decided to transfer to UNCG during the semester break. He will be immediately eligible for competition and have sophomore eligibility.
A native of Cape Town, South Africa, Redelinghuys was 7-6 in singles’ action for the Runnin’ Rebels during his freshman campaign. He also logged a 12-7 mark in doubles competition.
"I am extremely excited to have Martin as part of our program,” said Mozur. “He will bring some experience to our young team. Martin played both the Nos. 5 and 6 singles and the No. 3 doubles for UNLV last year and help them beat Oklahoma State last season, which was ranked No. 10 at the time. As a junior player, Martin was ranked in the Top 10 in South Africa in both the 16-and-under and the 18-and-under."
The Spartans open the spring portion of their schedule on January 28 against North Carolina State in Durham.
