Spartans jump into two more national polls

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG's men's soccer team has moved into two more national polls, entering at No. 20 in the Soccer America Men's Top 25 and at No. 24 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire Top 25.

The Spartans (1-0), who are also ranked 19th in the College Soccer News Top 30 National Poll, opened the season Friday with a 3-2 win over Duke, which was ranked 12th by Soccer America at the time. UNCG junior Hakan Ilhan scored a pair of goals in the win, earning spots on the TopDrawerSoccer.com and CSN national teams of the week.

This week's rankings mark the first for the Spartans since being ranked in the 2007 preseason by both CSN and the NSCAA.

UNCG returns to action Wednesday when it hosts East Tennessee State at the UNCG Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
