UNCG men's soccer selection gathering slated for Old Town

GREENSBORO, NC - The UNC Greensboro men's soccer team will have an open gathering Monday evening to watch the NCAA Tournament selections at Old Town Draught House on Spring Garden Street at the heart of UNCG's campus.

The gathering will begin at 5:45 pm. The selection announcement will come between 6 and 6:30 pm on ESPN News. UNCG will be in the field of 48 teams for the tournament by virtue of its win Sunday over the College of Charleston, 2-1, in the Southern Conference Men's Soccer Tournament title match. The Spartans came out of the seventh-seed to win the tourney and make for their fourth Southern Conference Tournament title. It is the lowest seed to ever win the Southern Conference Tournament title.

UNCG, 8-11-2, will make its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five years and ninth of the program's Division I era. All told, it will be the program's 18th NCAA Tournament appearance.

Fans and media members are invited to attend and then move over to Fleming Gym for the men's basketball home opener. UNCG will host Webber International at Fleming Gym at 7 pm.
