Patterson, Jones earn NCCSIA All-State Team honors
BUIES CREEK, NC – Seniors Randi Patterson and Scott Jones have been named to the 2006 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State Men’s Soccer Team.
Patterson, a forward from Hackensack, NJ, was the only unanimous selection to the team. He is a three-time first-team All-Southern conference selection, a two-time All-American and earned Southern Conference Player of the Year twice. Patterson also was placed on the NSCAA All-South Region second-team. In his four seasons at UNCG, he has been the team’s top goal scorer. This season, Patterson finished with 27 points on 13 goals and one assist.
Jones, a midfielder from Dallas, TX, is a four-time first-team All-Southern Conference selection and a three-time All-American. He also earned first-team NSCAA All-South Region honors. Jones finished second on the squad in total points after tallying nine assists and scoring seven goals for the Spartans. He led the team with five game-winners, two of which came in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
Both Patterson and Jones are among 58 collegiate players who have been invited to the 2007 Adidas Major League Soccer Combine in Ft. Lauderdale, FL next January, just days before MLS’ Super Draft.
