Men's Golf Completes Day One At Snowman Getaway
PHOENIX, Ariz. – The UNCG men's golf team finished day one of the Snowman Getaway Monday, playing 36-holes at the Palm Valley Golf Club hosted by Washington State. The Spartans placed 12th after the first two rounds with a score of 602 (604-298) while Missouri leads the event with a score of 565 (280-285).
Senior Robert Hoadley (Southern Pines, N.C./Union Pines) led the Spartans with a 36-hole score of 3-over par 147. Hoadley opened the day shooting a 5-over par 77 before rebounding with a second round score of 2-under par 70 as he posted five birdies in the second round.
Sophomore Roy Dixon (Salisbury, N.C./Salisbury) sits in a tie for 51st after posting back-to-back rounds of 75 for a 6-over par 150. Classmate Alex Ehlert (Raleigh, N.C./Athens Drive) is tied for 53rd with a two-round score of 151 as he opened the day with a first round score of 73 before closing the afternoon with a 78.
Freshman Luke Haithcock (Burlington, N.C./Williams) and senior Matt Younts (Stokesdale, N.C./Northwest Guilford) rounded out the Spartans in the five-man lineup as they posted scores of 154 (79-75) and 157 (79-78), respectively.
Freshman Taylor Coalson (Dobson, N.C./North Surry) sits in a tie for 45th with a score of 149 as an individual after carding scores of 76 and 73.
The Spartans will conclude the 54-hole event Tuesday with the third round starting at 7 a.m. (PT) with a shotgun start. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
