Men's Golf Sits In Sixth Place After Day One At AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men's golf team had its best opening day of the 2012-13 season as the Spartans fired a two-round score of 592 (295-297), to sit in sixth place after 36-holes of the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic hosted by Georgia State at the Berkeley Hills Country Club. The Spartans lead 10 teams, including nationally ranked Georgia, with round three set for tee times between 8:10-8:50 a.m.
Freshman
Taylor Coalson (Dobson, N.C./North Surry) leads the Spartans in 13
th place individually after carding a 4-over par 146 (72-74). Coalson's first round 1-over par score of 72 was the best of his young career, besting his previous top mark of 74 shot at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate (Sept. 15-16).
Classmate
Luke Haithcock (Burlington, N.C./Williams) and senior
Robert Hoadley (Southern Pines, N.C./Union Pines) are tied for 22
nd overall after each posting 6-over par 148. Haithcock carded a 1-over par 72 and a 5-over par 76 on day one while Hoadley tallied scores of 4-over par 75 and 2-over par 73. Sophomore
Alex Ehlert (Raleigh, N.C./Athens Drive) sits in 38
th place after notching an 8-over par 150 (76-74).
Georgia Southern leads the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic after 36-holes with a 1-over par 569 (283-286) while host Georgia State sits in second with a score of 581 (282-299). South Carolina's Dykes Harbin leads the tournament individually with a 4-under par 138, including firing a first round score of 66 before following that up with a 72. Georgia Southern's Hayden Anderson and Scott Wolfes are tied for second at 1-under par 141.
