Men's Golf Announces 2012-13 Schedule

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men's golf head coach Terrance Stewart announce a challenging 2012-13 schedule that includes the prestigious Bridgestone Golf Collegiate at Grandover Resort East Course. The Spartans return four letterwinners from last season's team and welcome in four newcomers to the 2012-13 squad.

"This year's schedule is a once again a challenging national schedule," Stewart said. "UNCG will compete in tournaments hosted by the SEC, ACC and PAC-12 conferences while continuing to host the challenging Bridgestone Golf Collegiate at Grandover Resort this year."

The Spartans open the fall season at the Tarheel Intercollegiate on the Finely Golf Course Sept. 15-16 before travelling to Richmond, Va., for the VCU Shootout at Hermitage Country Club (Sept. 24-25). UNCG continues fall play at the Auto Trader Collegiate on the Berkeley Hills Country Club (Oct. 15-16) and the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club (Oct. 19-20).

The Spartans wrap up the fall season hosting the prestigious Bridgestone Golf Collegiate, this year held at the Grandover Resort East Course. UNCG will host 13 teams in the eighth year of the event with Boston College, Chattanooga, Eastern Michigan, Georgia State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Mississippi, Purdue, VCU and Virginia Tech rounding out the field.

UNCG opens the spring portion of the schedule February 16-17 as it hosts the Carolina Cup in Greensboro. The Spartans will hit the road to Goodyear, Ariz., for the Washington State Snowman Getaway at Palm Valley Golf Course (Feb. 25-26)

The Spartans will return to North Carolina for the always challenging Pinehurst Intercollegiate which will be played on Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 6. After a visit to Williamsburg, Va., for the C&F Bank Intercollegiate at Kingsmill Resort (March 24-26), the Spartans play in the Bancorp South Intercollegiate at Reunion Country Club hosted by Ole Miss (April 1-2).

UNCG wraps up the regular season April 8-9 playing in the Gary Koch Invitational at Ole Memorial Golf Course in Tampa, Fla. The 2013 Southern Conference Championship will be playing April 21-23 at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, S.C.
