Spartans in second after first round of C&F Bank Intercollegiate
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The UNCG men's golf team is sitting in second place after shooting an even-par 284 in round one of the C&F Bank Intercollegiate on Sunday at the Kingsmill River-Resort Course. Spartans Alex Ehlert and Robert Hoadley finished day one in the top 10 individually.
Ehlert, a freshman, is tied for fifth overall after shooting a 2-under par 69, while Hoadley is tied for ninth at 70.
Not far behind is Kyle Sonday in 14th, as he recorded a 71 through the first 18 holes. Will Almand shot a 3-over par 74, putting him tied for 51st, and Roy Dixon is tied for 64th with a first-round 75.
Collectively, the Spartans are just two shots back of first-place Missouri and a stroke ahead of Appalachian State. Missouri's Emilio Cuartero is in first place individually with a 5-under 66.
The second round will begin Monday morning.
