Hoadley leading the way for Spartans at Wolfpack Invitational
GREENSBORO, N.C. — UNCG's Robert Hoadley shot a two-round score of 5-under par and holds the individual lead after the first day of the Wolfpack Invitational, which began Monday at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
Hoadley shot a two-round total of 137 (69-68) and owns a one-shot lead over Western Carolina's J.T.Poston. Hoadley recorded 11 birdies during his 36 holes of play, but also had six bogeys.
As a team the Spartans are fourth in the 16-team field with a total score of 576 (295-281) and trail team leader Memphis (571) by just five strokes. Louisiana-Lafayette (574) and Campbell (575) are second and third, respectively.
Andy Knox enjoyed a solid day for the Spartans, especially during the afternoon round when he carded a tournament-best 66. Knox enters the final round tied for 12th at 144 (78-66).
Colin Chapman is tied for 26th after shooting 147 (73-74), and Alex Ehlert is tied for 39th at 149 (76-73). Roy Dixon is tied for 52nd at 151 (77-74).
Alex Simmons is playing as an individual and is tied with Dixon in 52nd at 151 (76-75).
The third and final round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.
