Bowman's final round 71 leads UNCG at Administaff Augusta State Invite

AUGUSTA, Ga.  - Will Bowman shot a final round 71 to finish at 208 and tie for ninth place to lead UNC Greensboro to a ninth place finish at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational men's golf tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Bowman's 54-hole total of 208 wound up tied for the third-best score in school history. Bowman had four birdies and three bogeys in his round, going out in 36 and coming back in with a 35. He finished the tournament at eight-under par on the strength of his career-low 66 on Saturday afternoon.

Augusta State's Henrik Norlander won the event at 15-under par after a final round 65 on Sunday. He bettered his teammate Patrick Reed by two shots, who held the lead entering Sunday's final round. South Carolina's George Bryan, who carded a 65 of his own on Saturday, finished in a three-way tie for third with Augusta State's Mitch Krywulycz and South Carolina's Paul Woodbury.

Tournament host Augusta State also won the team title with a score of 817. After South Carolina pulled close with an unbelievable second round 266 on Saturday, Augusta State pulled away with a 273 on Sunday to win the tournament by 16 shots. UNCG carded a final round 295 to finish in ninth place. The Spartans wound up at 859 for the tournament.

In all 54 team rounds during the tournament, 52 of those were scores recorded under 300. The 18-team tournament field featured 11 teams ranked in the Top 50 according to Golfstat.
