Manakin-Sabot, VA - Freshman Robert Hoadley carded rounds of 70 and 69 to sit two shots off the lead entering Tuesday's final round at the VCU Shootout.
Hoadley, a freshman from Southern Pines, N.C., had four birdies and a bogey in the afternoon round for a solid 69. In the morning, it was a little more of a roller coaster as he had six birdies to go with four bogeys, but came away with a round of two-under par.
Hoadley is two shots behind Wake Forest's Brendan Gielow, who carded rounds of 70 and 67. Charlotte's Corey Nagy is third, three shots off the pace.
In the team standings, UNCG is in 10th place with a score of 592. UNC Wilmington leads the team standings at 571, holding a comfortable nine-shot lead over Wake Forest and 10 shots better than Virginia and tourney host VCU.
Tuesday's final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 am.
