DURHAM, N.C. – Dickon Housman is tied for 36th and John Isenhour is 53rd after two rounds at the Coca-Cola Duke Individual Collegiate.
Housman, a freshman from Ravingham, Norfolk, England, looked to be in contention until a rough patch of his second round. After a 74 in the morning round, he was four shots off the pace. Starting on hole No. 6 in the shotgun format, he was even par through his first eight holes of the second round. But consecutive bogeys on Nos. 14 and 15 and double bogeys on Nos. 16 and 18 set Housman back. He finished the second round with an 80.
Isenhour recorded rounds of 80 and 79 on Monday to put him in 53rd place in the 63-player field. Vanderbilt’s John Ebert leads the field with consecutive rounds of 70. He was the only player to post consecutive sub-par rounds on Monday. He leads North Carolina’s Chase Farland by two shots.
The tournament field consists of individual from Augusta State, Barton, Campbell, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Florida, George Mason, Guilford, North Carolina, N.C. State, Northern Illinois, SMU, UNC Greensboro, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. It is designed for players who are in the lower positions on their team’s line-up or are fighting to make the final spots in a team’s weekly lineup.
Play concludes Tuesday morning with tee times off of Nos. 1 and 10 at 8 am.
