ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – Senior Nathan Stamey recorded his eighth career Top 10 finish with a 72 on Sunday to finish at three-over 216 and help UNC Greensboro to a 14th place finish at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Indiana.
Stamey finished in a four-way tie for seventh and was six shots behind individual champion Nick Plumford from Michigan. Plumford came from a pack of golfers to fire a final round 67 – the only sub-70 round carded on Sunday – to take the individual honors. He topped Indiana’s Seth Brandon by two shots.
UNCG sophomore Drew Younts had his second straight strong round to finish tied for 35th place. Younts shot a 72 on Sunday to finish at 224 for the tournament.
Penn State came back to win the team title with a score of 862, six shots better than Michigan. UNCG finished at 904.
The Spartans return to action on October 7 when they begin play at the Coca-Cola Duke Classic.
