Stamey finishes 11th and UNCG finishes ninth at Coca-Cola Duke Men's Golf Classic

DURHAM, N.C. – Jake Lowder fired a final round one-under 71 and Nathan Stamey and Ryan Heisey both shot 73 on Monday as UNC Greensboro finished ninth in the Coca-Cola Duke Golf Classic.

Stamey’s 73 gave him an 11th place finish with a tournament total of four-under-par 212, one shot off of his career best. The sophomore from Canton, NC finished 11 shots behind individual champion Dustin Johnson. Johnson, from Coastal Carolina, fired his third consecutive 67 on Monday to win the tournament title by seven shots over a trio of competitors.

UNCG finished ninth with a tournament total of 870, 16 shots behind first-place Duke. The tournament host Blue Devils squeaked past Northwestern and Coastal Carolina by one shot to win the tournament.

Lowder’s 71 rallied him to 36th place, while Heisey finished in 37th place.
