Simpson named to NABC All-District 22 squad

GREENSBORO, N.C. –UNCG's Trevis Simpson has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 22 first team, the organization announced Wednesday.
A 6-4 sophomore swingman, Simpson led the Southern Conference in scoring at 18.3 points per game, becoming the first Spartan to top the SoCon. Simpson also earned first-team All-SoCon honors from both the coaches and media.
Simpson enjoyed one of the top offensive seasons in UNCG history. His 550 points were the most by a Spartan in four years and the fifth-most in single-season history. He also averaged 4.2 rebounds per game.
Simpson scored 20 or more points 13 times in 30 games, including a 36-point outburst at Miami (Fla.), which included seven three-pointers. He averaged 19.9 points in Southern Conference play, including a stretch of six straight games with 23 or more points.
