Former Spartan Hickman in running for LegaDue MVP

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Former UNCG standout Ricky Hickman is one of five finalists for the LegaDue Most Valuable Player, as voted by the fans online.

Hickman, who starred at UNCG from 2003-07, is playing this season for Fastweb Casale Monferrato in Italy's second-highest division of professional basketball, LegaDue. He has led his team to a tie for first place in the league this year with a 21-9 record as he averaged a team-best 17.2 points per game. He also averaged 3.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game this year.

During his time at UNCG, Hickman finished as the fourth-highest scorer in school history as he scored 1,544 points. He also holds the school record with 236 career steals. Hickman is in the top 10 all-time in games played, 3-point field goals, free throws and assists, as well.

UNCG fans may be familiar with LegaDue as another former UNCG standout, Kyle Hines, played in the league recently. Last season, Hines finished 10th in LegaDue scoring for his former team, Prima Veroli, before moving on to play for Brose Baskets in Germany.

Hickman will look to continue to lead his team this season as they are currently in the semifinals of the playoffs.
