UNCG announces 2011 Hall of Fame class
GREENSBORO, N.C. –Former men’s basketball standout Eric Cuthrell, volleyball coaching pioneer Tere Dail, women’s basketball record-holder Melinda Goodson and men’s soccer star Doug Hamilton have been elected to the UNCG Athletics Hall of Fame, Athletics Director Kim Record announced on Monday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Chris Singleton had a triple-double and Michael Snaer and Okaro White each added 16 points as Florida State defeated UNCG, 97-73, in the home-opener for the Spartans on Sunday afternoon at the Greensboro Coliseum. David Williams led UNCG with 16 points in his Coliseum debut.

UNCG hosts Florida State in home opener Sunday afternoon
UNCG opens its home slate at the Greensboro Coliseum on Sunday when it hosts Florida State at 3:30 p.m. The Home Opener Kickoff party and the Faculty/Staff Tailgate get underway at 1 p.m. in the Pavillion. Tickets will be available at the door. The game is also televised on FSN-South and FSN-Florida.

RICHMOND, Va. – In a season-opener that resembled a track meet as much as it did a basketball game, UNCG’s Brandon Evans scored a career-high 26 points but it wasn’t enough to offset five Rams in double figures as VCU defeated the Spartans, 101-86, Friday night.

Coles buzzer-beater in overtime lifts Gold over Blue, 56-53
