Student ticket info announced for UNCG men's basketball

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Student tickets for UNC Greensboro men's basketball games will be available under new procedures each Tuesday before a home game beginning next week with the Nov. 20 home opener against No. 24-ranked Clemson.

"Ticket Tuesdays" will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 17, with the ticket allocation for the Friday, Nov. 20, Clemson game. Tickets will be distributed to UNCG students with a valid university identification through the athletics ticket office located in the HHP Building (next to Fleming Gym) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on non-gamedays. On the day of a game, the athletic ticket office will close at 3 p.m. and distribution will continue at the Greensboro Coliseum beginning one hour prior to tip-off. For Saturday and Sunday contests, the only gameday distribution will take place at the Coliseum one hour prior to game time.

For the three games to be held over the holiday break against Wake Forest, NC State and Maryland, distribution will begin on Tuesday, Dec. 15.

As in previous years and as is with the case for all UNCG regular season home athletic events, UNCG students do not have to "buy" their tickets. Rather it is covered in student fees paid at the start of each semester. In addition, a free shuttle service will be provided each game from Stirling Street in front of the Elliott University Center for all students, faculty and staff. The Spartan Shuttle will begin three hours before the start of the game and continue through approximately 30 minutes after each contest so long as there are fans remaining to be transported.

Student ticket allotments will have a minimum of 1,500 tickets available for each game, although Coliseum and university officials will work to extend that number whenever availability permits. Students are encouraged to pick up their tickets early and not wait until arriving at the Coliseum on gameday. Students wishing to sit together in groups of 10 or more will be allowed to do so by making a special request one week prior to the game. Information and request forms for block seating are available at www.uncgspartans.com.

UNCG students will have the ability to purchase one additional ticket for student guests. Unlike past seasons at Fleming Gymnasium, student seating will be reserved and not general admission. Students wishing to sit together that do not meet the 10 or more standard for block seating will need to bring identification for each student at the time of the tickets are being obtained.

Members of the student group "The Blue Crew" are asked to inquire about special priority seating policies. Any UNCG student may become a member of The Blue Crew. Information is available at www.uncgspartans.com.

In addition, tailgating will be available at the Greensboro Coliseum. Parking lots will be open 2-1/2 hours prior to each game for tailgating. Parking will cost $5 per car. Further information on tailgating policies is available at www.uncgspartans.com.

Complete ticket information, including that for general public sale, is available at www.uncgspartans.com. The complete schedule for student-ticket distribution follows.
