Judski named assistant men's basketball coach, Easley promoted

GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro men’s basketball coach Mike Dement announced Tuesday the promotion of assistant coach Kevin Easley and appointment of Brian Judski as an assistant coach.

Easley, 28, has been promoted to the second assistant coach’s slot that was vacated by Brooks Lee, while Judski has been appointed to the third position. Lee resigned earlier this month to take an assistant’s position at UNC Wilmington.

Judski, a 1992 graduate of Clemson, comes to UNCG after spending the last three seasons at Georgia State as the Director of Basketball Operations. Judski had served in that position since June 2004. Prior to that, he spent two seasons on the staff at Furman (1997-99), four years at neighboring Guilford College (1999-2003) and one season at Miami Dade Junior College.

“We think Brian is a great fit for our staff,” said Dement. “Obviously, having to replace an assistant coach in August is an unusual occurrence. However, Brian brings a familiarity to Greensboro and the state of North Carolina in having served at Guilford as an assistant for four years. In addition, he has some strong junior college ties from his time at Miami Dade that we hope can help us in our recruiting. He has worked with some outstanding coaches during his time – the likes of Butch Estes and Larry Davis. I look forward to having Brian on our staff.”

Easley is entering his second season on the staff. A four-year member of the squad at Austin Peay as an undergrad from 1997-2001, Easley came to UNCG after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Tennessee-Martin. He is a native of Trenton, TN.

The Spartans officially open practice for the 2007-08 season on Friday, Oct. 12.
