POSTCARD #4: Kyle Hines (May 21, 2007)

Hey all. To update were I last left off.... We won our first two games. They were both great wins because they were truly team efforts. Everyone on the team played and contributed to the win.
 
We have gone to Venice, San Marino, and Florence. Venice is a city completely built on water. There are no streets and no cars, just canals filled with boats. We had the opportunity to take a private boat and Gondola throughout the city. The city was absolutely amazing and really beautiful.
 
In San Marino, we got the opportunity to spend the day on the beach. Donald, Kevin, Greg, Mike, Dwayne, Mikko and Bart were the only ones to get in the water. The rest of the team walked the beach and enjoyed the sun. After everyone got out of the water, we all buried Bart in the sand. Dwayne got impatient and started burying himself in the sand. Both of them were left stuck in the sand for most of the day until we felt sorry for them and finally let them free.
 
The next day we traveled to the beautiful city of Florence. When we got there, we all ate lunch and watched the women play their last game of the trip, which they won. Afterwards, we got to travel through the city and enjoy a wonderful pasta dinner. The next day we took a tour of the monuments throughout the city and explore the many shops that Florence has to offer. We all spent PLENTY of Euros!! So far Kendal and Donald have spent the most.
 
Tonight we all get to go out and enjoy a little bit of the nightlife and then leave for Rome tomorrow morning (Tuesday) for our last game together. It will be sad because this we be the last opportunity for all of us to see each other and share the court together. Bart and Mikko will be traveling back home and we will be going back to Greensboro (although we'll see Mikko in the Fall). This will be the last game for the 2006-2007 UNCG Men's Team. It will be very sad but very exciting also. Wish us luck...
