Tickets for UNCG-UNCW BracketBusters game to go on sale Monday
GREENSBORO, NC – Tickets for the ESPNU BracketBusters match-up between UNC Greensboro and UNC Wilmington will go on sale Monday morning.
The matchup scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17, which will serve as UNCG’s Senior Night, has been set for a 7 pm tip-off. Tickets for the general public and UNCG students will be available Monday beginning at 9 am at the UNCG athletics ticket office at Fleming Gym and on the internet at UNCGSpartans.com. UNC Wilmington fans will also be able to purchase tickets through an allotment at the UNCW box office later in the week.
Reserved seat tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children under 16. General admission tickets are $6. UNCG students receive tickets free with a valid University ID.
The two teams have not met since November 1991 when UNCG was new to the NCAA Division I level. The Spartans were competing in their first season as an independent. UNCG won that meeting, 68-66, at Fleming Gym for its first win as a Division I program. UNCW won the year before when UNCG was a Division II program, 69-51, at Trask Coliseum.
As a part of the BracketBusters series agreement, UNCG will travel to Trask Coliseum during the regular season next year. Last year, UNCG lost at Saint Peter’s in overtime during the BracketBusters series. UNCW has not played in BracketBusters since a loss at Illinois-Chicago in Feburary 2004.
UNCG is 12-10 on the season after a 75-65 loss at Davidson on Saturday. The Spartans remain in a first-place tie atop the SoCon’s North Division with Appalachian State. UNCW is 6-16 after a 67-61 win at William and Mary on Saturday night, breaking a 10-game road losing skid.
