SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG senior Thomas Troelstrup has been named the Southern Conference Baseball Player of the Week for all games from February 20-26.
Troelstrup was a catalyst at the plate as the Spartans went 4-0 during the week and moved their record to 7-0 on the season. That marks the second-best start in school history, only behind the 12-0 start of the 2003 team.

The third baseman from Tallahassee, Fla., had three doubles and a home run on the week and also added seven RBIs and five runs scored. He was 2-for-5 against UNC Asheville on Tuesday and 3-for-5 on both Friday and Saturday against Penn State.
Other hitters receiving consideration were Daniel Kassouf (Appalachian State), Marty Gantt (College of Charleston), Tyler Griffin (The Citadel), Michael Zeblo (Davidson), Eric Phillips (Georgia Southern), Brandon Miller (Samford), Jacob Hoyle (Western Carolina) and Konstantine Diamaduros (Wofford).
The Spartans return to action on Friday as they host Radford at 4 p.m. at the UNCG Baseball Stadium.
