UNCG baseball earns national recognition

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After another Southern Conference series win this past weekend, the UNCG baseball team has earned recognition in two separate national publications this week.

Aaron Fitt, the lead college writer for Baseball America, mentioned the Spartans in his weekly blog known as "Three Strikes". In the piece titled "Spartans on the March", Fitt goes on to talk about the team's recent success and their current standing of second in the Southern Conference.

Fitt goes on to say "The Spartans might not be the sexy pick to win the SoCon tournament, but it would be a mistake to look past them."

UNCG also saw itself climb in CollegeBaseballDaily.com's Mid-Major Top-25 after going 2-1 last week. The Spartans, who entered the rankings last week for the first time all season at No. 25, checked in at No. 19 this week.

UNCG is now one of four teams from the Southern Conference in the poll. Elon is ranked No. 6, while College of Charleston and Georgia Southern are No. 20 and No. 21, respectively, in the latest rankings.
