UNCG recruiting class recognized by Collegiate Baseball
TUCSON, Ariz. – Collegiate Baseball newspaper recently conducted its annual evaluation of NCAA Division I baseball classes and the publication named UNCG as having one of the top incoming classes in the nation for the upcoming 2011 season.
The staff of the newspaper ranked the top-40 recruiting classes in the nation and the Spartans were listed among a group of schools who earned honorable mention honors.
UNCG was one of just four Southern Conference schools to earn this honor. Appalachian State, Georgia Southern and Samford were also honorable mention honorees.
This season, the Spartans will welcome 19 newcomers to the team this year. That group includes pitcher Matt Anderson, pitcher Adam Boghosian, pitcher, Brandon Browne, infielder Ray Crawford, infielder Brandon Grove, outfielder Joe Hager, outfielder Cole Harrison, pitcher Dylan Hathcock, infielder John Hein, pitcher Jonathan Jones, outfielder Bobby Martin, pitcher Jarett Miller, catcher Cambric Moye, pitcher Dylan Newton, outfielder Ashton Paige, pitcher Pete Schultz, infielder/pitcher Andrew Spleth, catcher Trey Talley and infielder Thomas Troelstrup.
