UNCG baseball signs five during fall period
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG baseball team will welcome four prep seniors and one junior college transfer to campus next year after they signed National Letters of Intent with the Spartans during the fall signing period, coach Mike Gaski announced on Thursday.

Twenty-three UNCG student-athletes named Academic All-SoCon
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Twenty-three UNCG student-athletes earned spots on the spring 2011 Academic All-Southern Conference Team, the league office announced Thursday. The Spartans had a league-best four of the 13 student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs.

UNCG finishes second in Commissioner's Cup, fifth in Germann Cup

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Second-seeded UNCG rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 4-3 lead, but No. 6 Appalachian State came back with two runs in the bottom half and another in the eighth to defeat the Spartans, 6-4, in the Southern Conference Tournament on Thursday.

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Seventh-seeded Furman scored in seven of the nine innings and jumped out to a 10-3 lead early en route to a 12-6 win over No. 2 UNCG in the first round of the Southern Conference Tournament on Wednesday at J.P. Riley Park. The loss snapped UNCG’s eight-game winning streak.

Twenty-four UNCG student-athletes named Academic All-SoCon
SPARTANBURG, S.C. Twenty-four UNCG student-athletes earned spots on the spring 2010 Academic All-Southern Conference Team, the league office announced Wednesday. The Spartans Joey Thompson (mens track and field) and Mikayla Rogers (womens tennis) accounted for two of the six perfect 4.0 GPAs in the league.
