Cypress College (2008-09): Played two seasons at Cypress Community College for coach Scott Pickler ... went 2-0 with a 3.98 ERA in nine appearances as a sophomore ... made four starts and pitched in 20 1/3 innings ... went six innings allowing just two hits and no earned runs, while striking out six to record the win against Salt Lake CC ... also recorded a win against San Diego Mesa College when he went five innings and allowed only one earned run on three hits ... had a 3.28 ERA as a freshman with a 4-2 record ... made six starts and pitched two complete games his first season ... in 46 innings pitched he struck out 26 batters while only yielding four walks.

Summer Ball: Played during the summer of 2009 in Huntington Beach, Calif. for coach Jerry Lehman and the Newport Beach Storm.

High School: A four-year letterwinner for coach Mark Hubbard at Los Angeles Baptist ... had an 18-8 record over his four seasons and pitched 15 complete games ... also had a miniscule 1.78 ERA in four years ... earned first-team all-league honors his final three seasons and was a second-team selection his freshman year ... garnered the team Cy Young Award as a freshman and the Outstanding Pitcher's Award as a junior ... played in the Goodwill Games in Perth, Australia, where he pitched and won the championship game in 2003.
