Freshman Season (2009): Made 21 appearances during the season out of the bullpen as a freshman...had a 5.09 ERA in 35 1/3 innings of work during the year...went 1-0 on the year after throwing 3 1/3 innings of no-hit relief to pick up the win against NC State (4/21)...recorded his only save of the season after giving up only three hits in four innings in the 13-4 win against North Carolina A&T (3/31)...struck out 23 batters while allowing 16 walks...allowed one earned run or less in 14 of his 21 appearances and allowed more than two earned runs only twice ... was also named to the chancellor's list.
Summer Ball: Played this past summer in Baltimore, Md. for coach Mark Russo and the Maryland Redbirds ... helped lead his team to a second-place finish in the Cal Ripken Sr. League Tournament.
High School: Earned four varsity letters while playing at Lee County High School for coach Charlie Spivey ... named to the all-state team after his senior season and was team MVP his junior and senior season ... selected to play in the East/West all-star game as well as they North Carolina vs. South Carolina all-star game ... was the team MVP his junior and senior season ... had an 8-2 record with a 0.9 ERA as a team captain his senior year ... played in the State Games as a junior ... was a member of the National Honor Society and president of DECA as a senior ... also a member of FCA.
