Spartans take season finale over Furman, 6-5
FURMAN, SC – UNC Greensboro jumped out to a 6-3 lead and held on to defeat Furman, 6-5, in the season finale for the Spartans on Saturday afternoon at Latham Stadium.

After a 38 minute rain delay, Corey Overholtzer delivered a single to right field in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 12 games which broke a team-high this season.
Furman took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Marcus Rose led off the inning with a single to centerfield. After stealing second, he moved to third and then scored on a pair of groundouts to put Furman ahead, 1-0.
The Spartans responded in the top of the second with a pair of runs to go ahead, 2-1. With two outs in the inning, Brad Raynor singled to left field and Kris Richards followed with a walk.
