Falcon named SoCon Co-Pitcher of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC – UNC Greensboro’s Ryan Falcon has been named the Southern Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week for his role this weekend against Georgia Southern.

Falcon, the lefthander from Rougemont, NC, hurled a two-hit shutout over the Eagles in a 2-0 victory on March 30. The senior struck out a season-high eight and walked two, while pitching his first complete game of the year. With the win, Falcon improved to 2-5 on the season.

Falcon leads the squad in total strikeouts with 32 and has pitched a team-high 45.0 innings. He is among the league’s leaders in opposing batting average (.253) and ERA (3.40).

The Spartans play host to cross-town rival North Carolina A&T at First Horizon Park in Greensboro beginning at 6 pm.
