Mike Roach is entering his sixth year as the Director of the Spartan Club. Roach helped the Spartan Club exceed its $300,000 annual scholarship fund goal for the 2012 fiscal year and set a new all-time record for the fund. The Spartan Club, the official fundraising organization for UNCG athletics posted the annual scholarship fund total of $307,479, a 20.7% increase over last year’s total, increasing their efforts by over $50,000.
Roach came to UNCG in February of 2007 from Charlotte where he
worked with the Athletic Foundation as the Director of the Athletic
Annual Fund. Prior to his work in Charlotte he was working at
Wake Forest University as the Assistant Director of Law School
Development.
Roach graduated from Guilford College with a bachelor of science in 1994. He was a three-year letterwinner on the basketball team from 1991-94.
Roach is an active member of NACDA and Crescent Rotary. He is married to his wife Susan and they have two children, Lily and Jack.
