Dacia Ijames enters her third year overall at UNCG and her
second year as the director of new media. Ijames spent one year as
the assistant director of marketing and promotions before moving
into her current role. She has transitioned into the media
relations department after spending the first two years under the
marketing umbrella.
Ijames in responsible for all of the Spartans’ social
media efforts as well as the design and coordination of
www.uncgspartans.com, including UNCG’s video efforts.
Additionally, she provides graphic design work for numerous arms of
the athletic department, including media relations, marketing and
the Spartan Club.
During her first two years at UNCG, she was heavily involved with
the marketing aspect acting as the game director for men’s
basketball last season and was in charge of all marketing with
baseball for the past two years. She assisted in developing the
men’s basketball marketing plan and was heavily involved with
all video, print and online advertising and marketing campaigns.
Additionally, the UNCG baseball program generated its highest
attendance over the past five years in 2012, seeing over 12,000
fans attend games.
Prior to UNCG, Ijames spent two years as the assistant director of
sports marketing at High Point. She was the game director for both
men’s and women’s basketball while also developing
game-day logistics for all 14 varsity sports.
Ijames is a 2008 graduate of Pfeiffer University, graduating Summa
Cum Laude with a degree in business administration. She was a
four-year standout for the Falcons where she was a two-time
All-Conference performer and a two-time recipient of CoSIDA
Academic All-District accolades. She earned her Master of Science
degree in sport studies from High Point in 2010.
