UNCG Cheerleading Squad
2012 Spring Tryout Dates and Location
Thursday, April 12 5 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Location: Two court gym, HHP Building
Friday, April 13 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Location: Two court gym, HHP Building
Saturday, April 14 9 a.m. - noon
Location: Three court gym, HHP Building
The cheerleading squad is a co-ed group of full-time UNCG students dedicated to performing throughout the men’s and women’s basketball season as well as various special events during the academic year. The squad performs at all regular-season men and women’s home basketball games, while a select group travels to the Southern Conference Championship in March.
All squad members are part of the athletics department and attend study hall as part of the department’s Academic Enhancement Program. Satisfactory academic progress is expected for all student-athletes. All members of the UNCG Cheerleading squad must be a full time UNCG student, enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours, and maintain a minimum 2.3 GPA.
There are several scheduled practice sessions every week, which include strength and conditioning work.
