IMG and UNCG form athletics multimedia rights partnership

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Continuing its rapid growth as the leader in college sports marketing, IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide, today announced it has reached an agreement with The University of North Carolina at Greensboro for a multi-year multimedia rights partnership.
“We are pleased to announce this strategic partnership with IMG College, and look forward to continuing to grow the UNCG brand,” said Kim Record, Director of Athletics, UNCG. “We are confident that this partnership will result in maximized sponsorship opportunities and increased exposure for our University through IMG’s global resources.”

Under the terms of the agreement, IMG College will manage and market all rights associated with corporate sponsorships, stadium and venue signage, game promotions, and hospitality for UNCG. IMG College will also provide a professional, full-time sales force dedicated to serving the University. Wade Howell will oversee the property as general manager.

“UNCG has been a valued consulting partner for the past three years, and we are excited to extend our relationship with the University to include a multimedia rights agreement,” said Ben C. Sutton Jr., President, IMG College. “We look forward to the new initiatives we can develop to expand the reach of Spartan athletics to the millions of college sports fans around the nation.”

The partnership is effective July 1, 2011. UNCG has been a partner of The Collegiate Licensing Company, also a division of IMG Worldwide, since 1991.

IMG College currently represents multimedia rights at four additional institutions in the Southern Conference including Appalachian State, Elon, Furman, and Wofford.

Since its inception in 2007, IMG College has grown to represent the sponsorship or multimedia rights for more than 100 collegiate properties.
