At 12:30 p.m., Chancellor Linda P. Brady will host the rededication of the Quad in which all visitors are invited to attend. The Spartan Village opens on the EUC-Kaplan Commons at 1 p.m. with live music, games, food and a beer garden. The homecoming parade is set for 1:30 p.m. on campus with the best viewing areas on Stirling Street by the EUC-Kaplan Commons.
Alumni and fans are invited to head over to the pregame tailgate party and beer garden behind Fleming Gymnasium/HHP building from 4-6:30 p.m. All are welcome with food tickets costing $9 per person and includes pulled pork, chicken and sides. (Note: Former student-athletes who register for the reunion have the cost of the pregame tailgate party waived).
The day’s festivities continue at 6 p.m. as the UNCG men’s basketball team kicks off the 2012-13 season hosting Bluefield State in an exhibition game in Fleming Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and admission is free, but due to limited seating, a ticket is required. Tickets will be distributed from the Fleming Gym ticket office on game day beginning at 4 p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m.
The Spartans are coming off a SoCon North Division championship last year and are under the direction of head coach Wes Miller. UNCG returns 13 letterwinners from last year’s team, including All-SoCon performers in junior guard/forward Trevis Simpson (Douglas, Ga./Coffee) and senior guard Derrell Armstrong (Mechanicsville, Md./Allegany CC).
The UNCG men’s soccer program has the opportunity to host a first round game in the 2012 SoCon Tournament if the Spartans finish in the top four spots in the regular season standings. If the Spartans host a first round game, it will kickoff at 8 p.m. at the UNCG Soccer Stadium.

Homecoming Festivities Set For November 3
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG athletic department and Spartan Club has announced the schedule for the 2012 Homecoming festivities Saturday, November 3. The weeklong Homecoming events on campus culminate with the men’s basketball exhibition game and a possible men’s soccer Southern Conference Tournament quarterfinal game Saturday night.
The Homecoming events Saturday begin as the Spartan Club hosts
all former student-athletes back to campus for a facility tour at
10:45 a.m., before a luncheon at 11:15 a.m. in the HHP building
(Two Court). Former student-athletes can register for the luncheon
and other special athletic reunion events online at the link
