GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG senior forward Janae' Stevenson (Columbia, S.C./Eau Claire) has been named to the 2013-14 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association All-State Second Team, according to an announcement by the organization this week.
Stevenson finished her Spartan career starting all 30 games this season. She averaged a team-high 7.9 rebounds per game while ranking second in scoring average at 12.2 points per contest. Stevenson also shot a squad-best 47.5 percent from the field. In the Southern Conference statistics, she finished as the league leader in offensive rebounding at 3.4 per game.
With 16 points at Elon Feb. 1, Stevenson became the 23rd player in program history to score 1,000 career points – finishing her four seasons with 1,118. She also ended her time as a Spartan as the school’s all-time leader with in blocked shots with 126.
Stevenson notched 10 double-doubles on the campaign – including a program-record six straight from Nov. 15 to Dec. 5. As a result, she was named the SoCon Player of the Month for November. Stevenson scored in double figures offensively 21 times and racked up double-digit rebounds in 10 contests.
