GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG senior outside hitter Karrian Chambers (College Station, Texas/A&M Consolidated) has been named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week according to an announcement Monday by the league. The selection marks her second weekly honor of the season.
Chambers had a stellar statistical week as UNCG went 1-1 on the road to stay tied with Appalachian State for fourth place in the league standings. She averaged an impressive 4.43 kills and 4.57 digs while also hitting .370 after making just four errors in 73 attempts. Despite the loss at Furman, Chambers excelled in the match – tallying a team-best 14 kills on 25 attempts with just one error to hit a stout .520.
She was even better in the match at Wofford as the Spartans won in four. She posted a match-high 17 kills on 48 attempts – making just three errors to hit .292. Chambers also notched her ninth double-double of the season by adding 26 digs, just one short of her career high.
UNCG completes the regular season this week with match at Elon Wednesday and against Davidson Saturday at Fleming Gymnasium. First serve for both contests is set for 7 p.m.
