GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women’s tennis team heads to the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships this week, matching up against some of the top talent in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

The tournament begins on Thursday with qualifying singles and main draw doubles. The event continues through Monday with the finals of singles play and both semifinal and finals in doubles.

UNCG will send three players this weekend in junior Stephanie Falcon (Marietta, Ga./Walton), sophomore Jamie Grinberg (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) and freshman Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian).

In qualifying singles, Grinberg will face East Carolina’s Nicole Laduca Thursday at 11 a.m. and Franco will take on number one seed Bryn Khoury from Elon at 9 a.m.

The pair will team up in the main draw in doubles with a match against Southern Conference foes Karlee Bryde and Ansley Speaks from Furman Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Falcon will find out her opponent for Friday’s main draw action in singles after Thursday’s results.

UNCG will finish the 2013 fall campaign at the Roberta Allison Invitational (Nov. 1-3) in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
