Virginia Beach Piranhas

GREENSBORO, N.C. –
Senior UNCG women's soccer player Lauren Lover (Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford) has led the Virginia Beach Piranhas of the W-League to a first-place 4-1-1 record through six games this summer.

The Piranhas are currently leading the Northeastern Conference with 13 points followed by the Washington Spirit Reserves at 12 and the Long Island Rough Riders with 12. Games will continue until July 13 with the Piranhas having six games remaining in the season.

Lover, a senior defender for the Spartans, has started five games racking up 450 minutes. Lover picked up her first assist of the summer against the New Jersey Wildcats back on June 8. She has played 90 minutes in all five contests at either defender or in the midfield.

The Piranhas' next game is home against the Long Island Rough Riders on Saturday, June 22 at 5:30 p.m.

Lover was one of nine Spartans to start in all 20 games during her junior season in 2012. She finished third on the team in minutes played at 1,668 and helped UNCG earn nine total shutouts, including a streak of six-straight against conference foes.
