HIGH POINT, N.C. – UNC Greensboro track ran in the HPU VertKlasse Meeting Friday and Saturday at Dick Vert Stadium.
On Friday evening, Kassidy Dill was the top finisher for the women’s Spartans in the 1,500-meter with a new career-best of 4:50.42 to finish 12th overall. Also, Josie McGee, Chandler McCaslin, India Godlock, Kathryn Anderson, Kayla Contreras, Lefler McManus and Meredith Roberts all set new personal-records in the event.
On the men’s side Juan Rodriguez placed 10th overall in the men’s 1500-meter as the Spartan top finisher. Nicholas Thoma followed closely behind with a new personal-best in the race along with teammates Weston Clayton and Joseph Thoma.
On Saturday morning, Josie McGee won her section and the overall in the 800-meter with a new collegiate-best time. Madison Owings recorded a new personal-record in the same morning session of the 800-meter, finishing 2nd in her section.
UNCG took second, third, and fourth in the morning’s first heat of the men’s 800-meter. Joe Thoma placed second overall in the event with a new collegiate-best of 1:57.09. Nicholas Thoma ran a new personal record along with Jevon Neal and Ewan Hynes.
In the afternoon, Taylor Delaney represented UNCG in the seeded 800-meter and finished ninth in her heat. For the men, Juan Rodriguez was sixth in his heat of the seeded 800-meter with a new season-best of 1:56.06.
UNCG returns to action next weekend racing at both the Raleigh Relays and the Fred Hardy Invitational.
