LEXINGTON, Va. – UNCG’S Juan Rodriguez qualified for the 800-meter-race finals with a time of 1:55.74 at the Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the VMI Corps Physical Training Facility. Just fourth-hundredths off his personal record on the second fastest time of the day, Rodriguez will compete in the finals at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Taylor Delaney (Hope Mills, N.C./South View) finished fifth in the women’s 3,000-meter with a time of 10:13.89. The race was just second in the event in Delaney’s career.
In the men’s 4,000-distance medley relay, UNCG’s team of Logan Sprinkle (King, N.C./West Stokes), Colyn Todd (New Castle, Del./Roman Catholic), Weston Clayton (Raleigh, N.C./Millbrook) and William Sandin (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) turned in a time of 11:11.80 for eighth place.
The final day of the SoCon Championship will be on Sunday at 9:15 a.m.
