Track To Compete In Two Meets This Weekend 02-01-2018

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men’s and women’s track and field will compete in two meets this Friday and Saturday, the Camel City Invitational at JDL FastTrack in Winston-Salem and Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational hosted by Liberty in Lynchburg, Va.

Taylor Delaney (Hope Mills, N.C./South View) will be the lone competitor in the Camel City Invitational as she will run the 3,000-meter on Friday. Last week at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness Delaney won her section and set her collegiate record in the 400-meter-run.

On Friday in the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational just Ariana Garcia (Beulaville, N.C./East Duplin) and Holly Mordoff (Silver Spring, Md./Clarksburg) will run in the 5,000-meter. Garcia helped the Spartans win the distance medley relays last weekend, and Mordoff garnered her collegiate personal record in the 800-meter.

The following day will have the rest of the Spartans participate in their respective events.

The Spartans competed at JDL FastTrack in the previous four meets this season, and this will be the fifth of seven at the facility. UNCG will return to JDL FastTrack for the JDL College Team Challenge on Thursday, Feb. 8.
