Delaney Nabs Eighth in 1,500 Meters as Track & Field Concludes Duke Invite
DURHAM, N.C. – Taylor Delaney (Hope Mills, N.C./South View) highlighted UNCG’s action Saturday at the Duke Invite, snagging an eighth place finish in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:37.80 on the campus of Duke University.
Kelsey Barrett (Huntsville, Ala./Buckhorn) also competed in the 1,500 meters, coming in 43rd after timing in at 4:58.66. In the 200 meters, Alexis Rice (Charlotte, N.C./Ardery Kell) placed 60th with a time of 26.91. Following closely were Amber Dickens (Washington, D.C./Friendship Collegiate) and Mikkayla Hailey (Monroe, N.C./Central Academy of Technology & Arts) who came in 64th and 65th with respective times of 27.65 and 27.73.
In the only action on the men’s side, Palmer Dupree (Charlotte, N.C./Hickory Ridge) timed in at 23.45 in the 200 meters, garnering 64th place.
UNCG resumes its season on Saturday, heading to Boone, North Carolina to take part in the Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State University.
