Track & Field Stays Close to Home at Aggie Invite 04-14-2017

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The work load was light for UNCG on Friday at the Aggie Invitational on the campus of North Carolina A&T as the 800 meters was the lone event the Spartans competed in in Greensboro.

Taylor Delaney (Hope Mills, N.C./South View) placed ninth with a time of 2:14.35, while Kelsey Barrett (Huntsville, Ala./Buckhorn) wasn’t too far behind with a time of 2:21.44 for 17th. Kayla Wetherell (Youngsville, N.C./Franklinton) rounded out the top-20 after timing in at 2:31.06.

On the men’s side, Keeton Glenn (Raleigh, N.C./Ravenscroft) came in at 1:59.25 for 10th, while Dakarai Shipp’s (Raleigh, N.C./Millbrook) 2:00.14 earned a 13th-place finish. Jonathan Hodge (Kannapolis, N.C./A.L. Brown) placed 15th in 2:01.03, followed immediately by David Guthrie (Fayetteville, N.C./South View), who timed in at 2:01.67 for 16th.

UNCG’s will return to action at the Aggie Invitational Saturday.
