GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG cross country signee Kathleen Mansure (Boone, N.C./Watauga) took part in the Foot Locker National Championships Saturday in San Diego, Calif., and finished 28th overall. Mansure advanced to the national championship after placing eight overall at the Cross Country South Regional in Charlotte.
Mansure finished the 5,000-meter race in a time of 18:37 to place 28th overall. She was the fourth finisher for the South Region and helped that region win the team championship. The race was ran at Balboa Park in San Diego, Calif.
The Boone, N.C. native posted a time of 17:15 in the South Regional, finishing eight overall to advance to the National Championship. The qualifying finish followed up her second place finish at the 4A state championships November 1. Besides being the runner-up at the state championship, she was the 2014 Wendy’s Invitational Champion and won the Girls High School 5,000-meter race at the Furman Classic in Greenville, S.C
