Noah DeAngelo Named CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team
GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men’s soccer senior midfielder Noah DeAngelo (Burlington, N.C./Bishop McGuiness) has been named to the Academic All-District III First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday. DeAngelo now advances and will be eligible for Academic All-America honors against other first team selections across the eight districts nationwide.
DeAngelo, a team captain, owns a perfect 4.0 GPA in biology for the Spartans as a senior and will graduate this December. He will look to continue his education next year in medical school. DeAngelo spent this past summer volunteering for the Elon Fire and Rescue Department.
This marks the second straight year that DeAngelo has been named to the Academic All-District First Team. He is a three-time Academic All-Southern Conference selection and has played in 70 games in his career. He has scored four goals and dished out two assists in his career, including a pair of goals this season against UNCW and VMI.
DeAngelo has helped the Spartans to the top spot in the SoCon standings heading into the final weekend of league play. UNCG is unbeaten in seven straight games, posting a 5-0-2 mark over that span. The Spartans close out the regular season Saturday night when they travel to Johnson City, Tenn., to meet ETSU at 7 p.m.
